Getting started
Your places
Linking your page to the places you run, sell at, are a regular at or host events at, and asking to be shown as running a place.
Your places are the places on DO868 your page is linked to. They show on your page under Places ("Sells at Arima Market", "Regular at Barcode") and on each place's page under Who's here. Open Your page in the menu and scroll to Your places.
How you can be linked
- I sell there: a stall, a food truck or a pop-up at a market or venue. Shows as "Sells at" on your page and under "Vendors" on the place's page.
- I'm a regular there: a weekly night, a residency or a regular class. Shows as "Regular at" and under "Regulars".
- I host events there: you put on events at the place. Shows as "Hosts events at" and under "Hosts events here".
- I run this place: you own or manage it. This one is a request: see below.
Your page can be linked to the same place in more than one way, and to up to 50 places in all.
Adding a place
- Under Add a place, choose Choose and type the place's name. The search also matches its area and address.
- Choose how you're linked to it.
- Add a short note if you like, up to 140 characters, such as "Friday nights" or "Stall 12". It's shown on DO868.
- Press Add place.
Vendor, regular and host links show on DO868 straight away. Only places already listed on DO868 can be added. If yours isn't listed, write to [email protected] and we'll add it.
You need to confirm your email address before you can add places, because they show on DO868.
Saying you run a place
Choose I run this place and press Send request. The link shows as Waiting for review in Your places, and nothing is shown on DO868 yet. The DO868 team checks with you that you run the place, then approves the request or turns it down. If it's turned down, you'll see why under the place.
Once it's approved, your page shows "Runs" the place, and the place's page shows your page under "Run by". A business that is the same thing as its place (a bar, a restaurant, a studio) can instead have its place as part of its page: see Your place below.
You can cancel a request while it's waiting. An approved or turned-down "runs" link stays with the DO868 team: to change it, write to [email protected].
Changing and removing
- Change note or Add a note changes the note shown on DO868.
- Remove takes a vendor, regular or host link off your page and the place's page.
- Cancel request withdraws a request that's waiting for review.
Links marked Added by DO868 were added by our team. You can still change their note or remove them.
Your place
A business people come to, such as a bar, a restaurant, a club or a studio, can be one page with its place on DO868. Your page then shows the place's address, map, directions and types, and every event at the place, whoever lists it. The place's own address on DO868 opens your page. Your place appears at the top of Your places for kinds of business that can have a place (for example Bar, restaurant or club and Studio / classes).
You can do this once, for one place:
- Claim a place DO868 listed: search for it under Is your place already on DO868?, press This is my place, and tell us how we can check it's yours (its Instagram, website or phone number). Each place has one claim waiting at a time. If someone else's claim is already being checked, write to [email protected].
- Add your place: press No, add my place and give its island, area, address and what kind of place it is. The place is added to DO868 straight away as a place that isn't verified yet.
Either way the DO868 team checks it first: until then your claim, or your place, shows as waiting for review. We email you when it's decided. Once it's approved, your page and your place are one page, and Your place lets you change its address, area, island and types; they show on DO868 within a minute. Each change is recorded on your account and the DO868 team is told, so they can check it. Its name, photos and contact details stay with the DO868 team: write to [email protected] to change them.
On a place's page on do868.com, Claim this place brings you here with that place chosen when you're signed in.
A place that DO868 already shows as part of a business page is claimed through that page: claim the page itself (see Claiming your page).
You need to confirm your email address first.
