Creating an event

Every part of the event form, what's required, and the limits on each field.

Open My Events and choose Submit New Event (or Submit your first event if you haven't listed one yet). Fields marked * are required. Every time on the form is Trinidad time.

Basics

  • Title: 3 to 120 characters. Use the name people know the event by.
  • Description: up to 5,000 characters. Say what it is, who's playing, and anything people should know before they go.
  • Category: pick the one that fits best, such as Fetes / Parties, Live Music / Concerts or Food & Drink.

When

  • Start date and start time are required. A new event can't start in the past.
  • End date and end time are optional, but if you fill one, fill both. The end must be after the start and within 31 days of it.
  • Repeats appears on new events. See Repeating events.

Where

  • Island: Trinidad or Tobago.
  • Area (optional): the town or neighbourhood, up to 80 characters. Suggestions follow the island you picked.
  • Venue (optional): choose from the venue list, or add one that isn't listed. See Venues.
  • Location note (optional): up to 120 characters, for when the venue alone doesn't say where it is: a boat ride, on the road, a meeting point, or "Location given to ticket holders".

Tickets

An event starts as This event is free. Untick it to add ticket prices. See Ticket prices.

Ticket or info link (optional) is where people buy tickets or read more. It must start with http:// or https://.

Age limit and dress code

  • Age limit (optional): choose from the list, for example All ages, 18+, or 16+, under 18s with an adult. Leave it on Not stated if you'd rather not say.
  • Dress code (optional): up to 120 characters, such as All white, Smart casual or Old clothes (paint and powder).

Getting there and the image

  • Getting there (optional): shuttles, parking and public transport. See Getting there.
  • Image: the event's photo or flyer. See Images.

Saving

  • Submit for review sends a new event to our team to check before it goes live. Once your account is trusted, the button says Submit Event and the event goes live straight away; see Review and publishing.
  • Save draft keeps your work without sending it, while that option is shown (for example before you've confirmed your email).
  • If something needs fixing, the fields are highlighted with a message under each one.

After it's saved

  • The line-up is added on the event's edit page, once the event is saved. See Line-up.
  • Duplicate in My Events makes a copy called "(copy)" as a starting point for a similar event. Change the date and details before you send it.
  • Your event's web address on do868.com is made from its title and date, for example soca-brunch-102426. You don't choose it. If you change the date, the address moves to the new date and the old one keeps working. Changing only the title keeps the address. The Share kit shows the link to copy.
  • Deleting or cancelling: the portal has no delete button. If an event is cancelled or shouldn't be listed, get in touch and we'll take it down.
