Images
What images DO868 uses for your events and your page, where each one appears, and the sizes and formats to send.
This is the image guide for organizers and entertainers. Sponsors and advertisers: see Advert images.
Every image
- Formats: JPG, PNG or WebP.
- File size: up to 5 MB.
- Dimensions: at most 8000 pixels on each side.
- Rights: only send images you own or have permission to use. That includes photos of performers and other brands' logos.
- We don't edit your images. The file you send is the file people see, cropped as described below. Check it before you send it.
How we prepare your images
Every uploaded image is turned the right way up, has its hidden data removed (camera details and the location a photo was taken), is limited to 2400 pixels on its longest side, and gets smaller copies so phones download less. Send the best file you have; we keep it sharp.
Event photo
The event form has one image: the event's cover. It appears in more places than any other image, in several different shapes.
Send a landscape photo, 16:9, 1920 × 1080 (at least 1200 × 675). The form warns you if an image is smaller than that, because it may look blurry on large screens.
| Where | Shape | What happens to your image |
|---|---|---|
| Event page | 16:9 | Shown whole. If it isn't 16:9, it's fitted inside a blurred copy of itself, so nothing is cut off. |
| Event cards (home page, browse, search) | 4:3 | Cropped from the centre. A price tag sits in the top-left corner, and save and itinerary buttons in the top-right. |
| Featured events (home page) | Wider on phones, closer to square on large screens | Cropped from the centre. |
| Link previews (WhatsApp, Facebook, X) | 1.9:1 | Cropped from the centre, darkened, with our title, date, venue and price on top. |
| Story image (Instagram, TikTok) | 9:16, tall | Only the middle third of a landscape photo is visible, darkened, with our text on top. |
| Post image | 4:5 | Cropped from the centre, darkened, with our text on top. |
- Keep the main subject in the centre. Faces, the stage or the venue should sit in the middle of the frame, with space around them. Anything near the edges will be cut off somewhere.
- Avoid text in the photo. We already show the event's name, date, venue and price, typed from your event details. Text in the photo gets cropped, and it clashes with ours on share images.
- Bright, sharp, real photos work best: the venue, the crowd, the performers or the food. Avoid collages, borders and heavy filters.
If the DO868 team added more photos to your event, they're kept, and the form says so.
Flyers
Flyers are fine. If a flyer is all you have, upload it.
-
Tick "This is a flyer" under the event image. It's ticked for you when the image is tall and narrow (portrait). Untick it if it's really a photo, or tick it for a flyer we didn't spot. Changing the tick re-sends the image you chose.
-
On your event page, the whole flyer is shown.
-
On cards and share images, only the centre of it shows, under our own title and date. Small print near the edges won't be readable there.
-
Make sure the event details are complete, because that's where people read the date, time, venue and price.
-
If you have a good photo as well, use the photo.
Logo
Shown at the top of your public page, in a circle, 64 pixels across. Add it on Your page.
Send a square image, 400 × 400 or larger, PNG or JPG.
- Put the logo in the middle with space around it. The corners are cut off by the circle.
- A simple mark reads better than a long name at this size.
- A solid background colour works well. If you use a transparent PNG, check it on both a light and a dark background, because the site has a dark mode.
Cover photo
A wide photo across the top of your public page, behind your name and logo. Add it on Your page.
Send a wide image, 3:1, 1500 × 500 or larger.
- On phones the sides are trimmed, so keep the main subject in the middle.
- Your name and logo sit over the lower part, so avoid text and faces at the bottom.
- A crowd, your venue or a stage shot works well. Avoid flyers here.
Gallery
Up to 12 photos of past events on your public page, in the order you set on Your page. Each is shown in a 4:3 frame, cropped from the centre.
Send landscape photos, 4:3 or 16:9, at least 1200 pixels wide.
- Real moments from your events work best: the crowd, the performers, the food.
- Put your strongest photo first.
Featured events
A featured event shows in the Featured carousel of the home page with the event's own photo, cropped from the centre. Follow the event photo guidance above. See Featured spots.
